I’ve done both with these and they turned out great. For chicken pho, I toasted the spices and put them in the bag, then sautéed some onion, garlic and ginger and added two cartons of Costco chicken bone broth. Twenty minutes with the spice bag soaking and the broth tastes like it’s been cooking for hours!
